How to prioritize 2 or more really important things that are due at the same time:

Sometimes in sterile processing, priorities don't wait; they hit you all at once, and you have to decide what to handle first, what to hand off, and what to renegotiate.

1. Get clear on impact and deadlines. Patient safety and operations come first. How many people are depending on each one?

2. Break the work into pieces. Delegate what you can. Block time for what only you can do.

3. Keep the right people updated. Leadership in the affected department. Anyone depending on the outcome. Anyone impacted if it slips.

4. Renegotiate timelines early. Flag it before the deadline passes, not after. Offer what you can deliver and when, not just "I can't do it."

5. Ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Prioritize with purpose.
