The Consultant Myth

 The Consultant Myth

There's a myth that consultants come in to find everything you're doing wrong. That they look at your team, your processes, your building, and think, 'incompetent. They walk in as part of your team. Equipped with current standards. AAMI, AORN, OSHA, CDC, FDA, The Joint Commission. Staying current on all of that is a full-time job, and most facilities don't have someone whose only role is tracking every update. That's where consultants come in. They're there to find what can be done better, not based on opinion, but on what the regulations and standards say right now. Finding gaps is part of that. Finding gaps isn't a verdict on your facility. They track the changes so you don't have to, and they help you close the gaps. Remember, they can recommend, but the facility always makes the final call.

Back to basics: They bring the standards; you make it yours.
